Street People!

On Christmas Eve Carla and I went to an open house at the nearby home of some folks she'd met while taking her herd of huskies on their daily morning walks. St. Francis In the Foothills UMC

Karen and I attended 11:00 pm Christmas Eve worship at St Francis in the Foothills United Methodist Church. Phenomenally good music!

Amazing Peace

Maya Angelou, Amazing PeaceOne of the most wonderful gifts I received was a copy of Maya Angelou's Amazing Peace, the poem she read at the White House this year which also #1 on The New York Times best-seller list. The book is a jewel I highly recommend to everyone.

Kitt Peak Observatory

Tuesday we went to Kitt Peak National Observatory. Located on the Tohono O'Odham Reservation, the observatory houses twenty-five telescopes, making it the world's largest collection of research telescopes. It also represents dozens of universities and related institutions doing astronomical research.

Safford, Arizona

Our Wednesday excursion took us close to the New Mexico border, to the small city of Safford, where we visited a bunch of adorable kittens and young cats, as well as more than a half-dozen agreeable dogs who currently are up for adoption on Petfinders.
