On Christmas Eve Carla and I went to an open house at the nearby home of some folks she'd met while taking her herd of huskies on their daily morning walks. "Street People" in the popular sense of down-and-out doesn't remotely describe this couple and their friends I met at the open house, but one of Carla's acquaintances styled them thus, so it's sticking. Funny!

Located on the Tohono O'Odham Reservation, the observatory houses twenty-five telescopes, making it the world's largest collection of research telescopes. It also represents dozens of universities and related institutions doing astronomical research.
Safford, Arizona
Our Wednesday excursion took us close to the New Mexico border, to the small city of Safford, where we visited a bunch of adorable kittens and young cats, as well as more than a half-dozen agreeable dogs who currently are up for adoption on Petfinders.
